MainStreet Warner, Inc. Scholarships

The Jim Mitchell Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship has been created to honor Jim Mitchell, who acted as Warner's ambassador of community spirit, to remember that "Something Wonderful is Happening in Warner."

The Jim Mitchell "Local Hero" Book Award

This annual book award to one boy and one girl from Warner, selected through MainStreet Warner, Inc., who has completed the fifth grade and is leaving Warner for Middle School. It is to honor Jim's spirit of being someone who cares for and about others and for the community of Warner with daily acts of kindness to others with no expectation of any recognition, our own "local heros". The recipient of this award is given a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and their name is added to a plaque in the Simonds School Jim Mitchell Library.
